With the funds for the successful IFAA 2024 Congress by many KAA members, the Korean Association of Anatomists (KAA) provides pre-courses program such as workshops in education, research, publication and more for future generations of anatomists to strengthen your capabilities and network.
Anatomy professor, graduate student, undergraduate student, post-doctorate researcher, physician, doctor, developer, engineer and anyone who has an interest in each topic are welcome!
Only those who complete the congress registration with proper payment can purchase the ticket for the workshops, via the official website.
The Pre-courses Ticket Purchase will be available from April, 2024.

Program or DescriptionEmerging technologies such as virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (MR), and three-dimensional printing (3DP) hold transformative potential in education and healthcare. The curriculum included lectures and hands-on sessions focusing on the application of virtual reality, 3D printing technologies, and artificial intelligence technology in anatomy education and clinical simulations. The attendee will have hands-on experience on virtual dissection table (MDBOX®, MEDICAL IP Co., Ltd., Seoul, Korea), VR headsets (Oculus Quest 2, Meta Quest, Menlo Park, CA, USA), an AR headset (HoloLens 2, Microsoft, Redmond, WA, USA). The attendee will learn how to use medical image processing software (MEDIP PRO®, MEDICAL IP Co., Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea). Through the experience of both hardware and software of 3D medical images, the attendee will be equipped with the capacity to organize educational course based on 3D hardware and software for anatomy education and clinical simulation. |

PRE-06 | Live Practical Demonstration: Sihler's Whole Mount Nerve Staining and Modified Technique for Vessel Study |

Program or DescriptionPurposeIn this program, we aim to demonstrate not only the traditional Sihler’s whole mount nerve staining technique but also a ‘modified technique’ for vascular research. Through this program, participants will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience, learn experimental techniques, and engage in knowledge sharing and problem-solving among participating anatomists. Furthermore, we intend to facilitate discussions about potential advancements in the Sihler’s staining technique for the future. SignificanceSihler’s whole mount nerve staining is an experimental technique that allows for the examination of intramuscular nerve distribution. This long-standing traditional method has regained attention recently due to the active use of botulinum neurotoxin injections for cosmetic and rehabilitation purposes. This program enables participants to gain practical experimental experience by conducting Sihler’s whole mount nerve staining. Programs
